Welcome to the Ocean Park Pizza Redevelopment Project page. On this page are the pictures, videos and information about the project development as it progressed. The project started on April 25, 2005 with the closing of the old restaurant and a new beginning emerged on May 26, 2006 when the Ocean Park Pizza Restaurant and Steak House and Ocean Park Pub welcomed their first customer.

June 17, 2006 GRAND OPENING!		As part of the OCEAN PARK DAY, the Ocean Park Pizza Restaurant and Steak House and the Ocean Park Pub celebrated its Grand Opening. Judy Higginbotham, Cith Councillor, representing the Mayor of Surrey, cut the ribbon for the official opening. This event happened to coincide with the World Cup Soccer and so the Pub was particularly popular.

May 26, 2006 OPENING NIGHT!		Welcome to the Ocean Park Pizza Restaurant and Steak House and the Ocean Park Pub! Come meet the first customer; Jock Bray, the waitresses and bartenders and perhaps you might recognize some friends of yours who were lucky enough to be there on this joyous occasion.
May 26, 2006		There are lots of signs of an impending opening. There are boxes being opened, bottles are being put on shelves, glasses are being stacked, and even though Darrell and Gerry are busy installing more trim, by the end of the day, they start packing up.
May 25, 2006		There is new lawn around the front of the building, all the chairs for the restaurant arrive, the kitchen crew test out the chip fryer, the soda dispensers get tested and calibrated, Darrell is installing more trim and Gerry is installing more millwork around the bar.
May 24, 2006		Ves is sand-blasting an engraving into the boulder by the bench, Ray is installing booth tables, Darrell are installing hand-rails, Gerry is installing more millwork, chairs are arriving and SYSCO arrives with its first food order.
May 23, 2006		Ray and Josh are assembling tables, Lotto BC is installing flat panel TVs for Keno and animated horse racing, Mark is continuing with touch-up painting, James and Darrell are installing more millwork and Gerry and James install all the outside signs.
May 22, 2006		Advanced Integration has installed the flat panel TVs, Mark is doing touch-up painting, Ray is installing pot lights over the bar and Darryl is installing a video camera.
May 20, 2006		Darrell is installing beams in the pub, Mark is staining the beam boards, the electricians are installing track lighting over the bar and Doug is installing the cooler cabinet doors.
May 19, 2006		We meet Rob Kay of Kay Design who did the interior design, Mark is staining beam boards, Darrell, Gerry, Dan and Matt install the pub fireplace mantel and a foot rail for one of the pub seating areas arrives.
May 18, 2006		The lights are installed in the parking lot, the lines for parking are painted, the wrought iron window bars are installed, the wood trim crew is installing more beams and trim, and Kevin installs the beer tap bridge with no less than 12 beer taps.
May 17, 2006		The wood trim crew is installing more beams and trim, Vern is plumbing more bar sinks, and the electricians are installing the main hall chandeliers.
May 16, 2006		We tour the landscaping around the building, Vern is plumbing the bar sinks, and the finishing crew has installed the countertop on the cabinets around the bar cooler.
May 15, 2006		Nate is watering the plantings, Richard and Gerry discuss a feature to be installed at the corner of 128A street and 16th avenue, Mark is painting vents and the finishing crew is making progress with the wood trim.
May 14, 2006		This is a special Mother's Day tour as the landscaping is almost finished. Nate is planting the many small potted plants and we take a walk around the building to see the many trees and colourful flowers.
May 12, 2006		The landscaping continues with Richard and Nate distributing topsoil; Adam works on the lighting in the pub, Darrell and Tracy are installing sound speakers and the woodwork crew is making progress on the washroom stalls and beams.
May 11, 2006		The landscaping begins in ernest; Graeme plants a tree, Richard uses the backhoe to dig out a planter, Darrell installs a stub wall in the pub, and Mark is working on the paint edging.

May 9, 2006		Rob installs cedar vents in the garbage bin garage, Rian installs facia boards between the roof rafters, the woodwork finishing crew installs facia boards on the glulam beam in the pub, and Richard and Graeme begin the landscaping.
May 8, 2006		We get to look at the new outside lights, Mark prepares the garbage bin garage doors for painting, the woodwork finishing crew installs facia boards on the beam in the restaurant and we get a look at one of the beer tap handles that will go in the pub.
May 5, 2006		We tour all the outrigger installations, the cooler gets modified for matching up to the drink cabinets, we get an exclusive sneak preview of some of the products to be served in the pub and Rian is installing the shingle siding on the garbage bin garage
May 4, 2006		Rian and Mike are installing the shingle siding over the pub entrance doors, Rob is installing door thresholds, Martin is installing the light fixtures in the pub terrace and Sean installs an outrigger at the peak of the office dormier.
May 3, 2006		Rian is almost finished the shingle siding over the 128A street doors, Jarrod is grouting the joint between the slate border and the fir floor around the bar, Gerry and Matt have installed more real faux beams and an outrigger has been installed over the pub entrance.
May 2, 2006		Rian is working on the shingle siding over the 128A street doors, Gerry and Matt are installing more real faux beams and the outriggers for the roof peaks have been cut and painted.
May 1, 2006		The granite counter top for the bar is being ground to fit, Rian has completed the shingle siding over the main entrance, Sean is installing the final trim pieces over the main entrance and the outriggers for the roof peaks are being made.
April 28, 2006		Rian has almost completed the shingle siding over the main entrance, Sean has installed the strapping over the pub entrance and Geoff and the crew have installed the glass panels over the pub terrace.
April 27, 2006		Vern is installing the washroom sinks, Gerry and Matt are installing the bar cabinets, Sean is installing strapping over the pub entrance and Geoff and the crew are installing the glass panels over the pub terrace.
April 26, 2006		Rob is installing trim over the 128A street doors, Ray and Sean are installing the curved trim over the pub entrance, Gerry is installing the faux beams and the front doors have been installed.
April 25, 2006		Shawn wires up a speaker in the men's washroom, Ray and Sean are installing the trim over the pub outside door and Ronny and Alan install the bar's granite counter tops.
April 24, 2006		Archie pulls wires through conduit for the parking lot bases, Ray is installing the trim over the kitchen outside door and we get a look at the finished wainscotting and trim around the restaurant booths and a pub seating area.
April 22, 2006		The crew from Versatile Concrete add texture and colourant to the concrete area at the entrance to the parking lot and some of the entrance sidewalks have been sealed.
April 21, 2006		Sean and Rob are framing up a concrete form for a planter, Ray is installing the curved trim over the main entrance windows, Adam is installing the puck lights on the bar and Mark is painting the stairway walls.
April 20, 2006		Scott and Brian are oiling the reclaimed fir floor, Gerry is installing the kick panels on the bar cabinets and Rob is installing the metal doors on the garbage bin garage.
